IOP Frequently Asked Questions

Although telehealth has gotten increasingly popular since it is convenient, we know there is no trade off for meeting in person. At Room for Change we believe that when people are physically comfortable, in our homelike offices, they go faster and deeper into their therapeutic work.

The inclusion of family in the healing process allows engaged parties to better understand their loved one’s mental illness, cumpulsions, or impuls control. Understanding the true nature of these struggles allows families to forgive and accept the person for who they are and separate the person from the illness. Our program requires one support person to attend one group, which is offered the first and third Saturday of each month from 1:30–3:30pm. Each group is different so supports are encouraged to attend more than one if they can.
-
We use evidence-based in-house curriculum culminated from various resources that employ therapeutic modules such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.

We are starting out with only a private pay option for IOP; however, we are working on contracting with various insurance carriers. IOP participants who have insurance can provide their insurance information so that the Intake assessment can be billed to insurance. IOP participants without insurance will be charged $80 for the Intake assessment.

It is a secular program and 12-step engagement is not a requirement, although we do encourage clients with behavioral an emotional issues to cultivate a community beyond their using friends.
